JS Error breaks Minicart in developer mode only Invalid template file
I'm working on a project and I'm getting the below browser console error only in developer mode when I add an item to the cart
Invalid template file: 'cart/item/price/sidebar.phtml' in module:
'Magento_Wee' block's name: ''
Magento ver. 2.2.7
It breaks the minicart UI so the user can't see if there is anything in the cart from looking at the minicart in the page header, it they go to the /checkout/cart page they can see their items.
I thought perhaps it was an invalid LayoutXML declaration but I've searched the code base and there is nothing relevant that I can see, the only place I can see that template used in LayoutXML is in:
checkout_cart_sidebar_item_price_renderers.xml- Cart.php
Any suggestions on what it could be and how I can debug it further?
